Boston opening his gifts

Opening his present

His very first baseball bat all his own
Dad putting on his Boston's mitt
We had a little breakfast with Cars table cloth, plates and cups.  Boston told me he wanted a "Mater" cake this year so we just went with the whole Cars theme.  After breakfast, we opened his gifts before we headed out the door to Disneyland.

Valentines Day 2012

Travis' family has an awesome family tradition for valentines for the kids that we decided to carry on this year.  When the kids wake up in the morning, there is a string attached to their breakfast chair which makes loops and turns and takes each individual kid to there very own presents which are hidden in the house.  The kids has such a blast!  It was fun to see them get so excited while following the string to find what was at the end of the string.

And for the LOVE OF MY LIFE.... I decided to print off photos of us in the many places we have been in the past 7 years. On the back of each photo, I wrote a specific trait I love about Travis. I also gave him his favorite... a liter of Mountain Dew and a huge Symphony bar.
My man gave me some beautiful flowers and the Taylor Swift CD.
I am so blessed to have these 3 as my family.  I pray I can live worthy of them and show my love to each of them more each day.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!

Fan Days

We went to Petco Park for fan days for the Padres.  It was so cool. We were able to walk through the players dressing rooms and onto the field.  The kids ran the actual bases which Travis thought was awesome.  They had tractors there and Boston HAD to go sit on the John Deers.  Then we made our way to the bounce houses and up to the Tony Gwynn statue.  It was a blast.  Heres the pictures

La Jolla Beach

Last Sunday afternoon after the football games, we decided to go look at the seals on La Jolla Beach.  A friend of mine had told me about this area of the beach which was made as a kids place and turned into Seal World.  When we went there were about 30 seals just beached on the sand and many more swimming to the sand and/or leaving the sand.  It was pretty cool and the kids really enjoyed it.  It was perfect weather also.  I could really live here forever I think.....IF we could ever afford a house.  Heres the pics I took

Updates

It has been a long time since I have updated my kids' progress, and recently I have rediscovered how priceless this blog has been while trying to scrapbook and remembering what happened when.  So here goes:

Boston is now 23 months.  Crazy he will be 2 in just a few short weeks.  He is talking a lot more lately (although he is a man of few words but still gets his point across) and his words are more clear and understandable.  He is now saying sentences also.  I have been worried about his language because Addy was so ahead of the game as far as this goes.  He climbs on things on top of things.  Trav's parents said he did the same thing.  My mom said her boys did the same thing.  Guess its in his genes.  He likes to stack trucks on top of a bed, a chair, or whatever he can and then "ride" it.  He LOVES to "ride it" meaning his buzz lightyear quad he got for Christmas.  We go outside to the parking lot and on down to the park in the neighborhood so he gets a good ride in.  He makes car sounds while riding, occasionally he sticks out his tongue (Rowley trait), and tries to go up the big "hills" (any bump he can find).  I have also found him a couple times with a car turned upside down and him trying to figure out how the wheels work just like his Daddy.  I LOVE having a little boy around.  He is so funny.

Adelyn is now 5.  Can you believe it, 5!!!! I can't.  She is loving school and really excelling in her class.  She is learning how to write letters and the sounds they make individually to prep her for reading. She went on her first class field trip to La Jolla Beach to make "sandman".  I was able to go with her thanks to a wonderful friend who was willing to watch Boston for the day.  She and I had so much fun.  She loves books, but the Fancy Nancy collection is her all time favorite.  She really enjoys doing math. She came up with the math all on her own.  She likes to add and subtract.  She is a girly girl through and through.  She spends most days playing with her playgroup friends playing barbies, dress up, and she really enjoys drawing and coloring.  I have no place to put all the pictures she draws us daily.  She really has a talent in art.  She will spend an afternoon just drawing and coloring.  She is so sweet and so fun to around.  She brightens up our day and she brings a smile to face when I think about her because she is just so spunky and fun.
I feel so overwhelmingly blessed to have these 2 in my life.  I am so thankful, although I wont lie it is difficult at times, to be home full time with my kids.  I am so glad I get to be here for the precious, fun, spontanous moments at this time of their lives.

A saturday in California

Addy on beach

Boston and Addy

Me and my kiddos
Our little Family

Trav and Bos
This Saturday was, I swear, the first Saturday we have had to just chill as a family since we moved here to S.D.  We decided we definately needed to the see the beach.   The tides were especially high this weekend and the beach was p.a.c.k.e.d.  We found an area that had a little playground right by the beach so the kids could just hang out.  I forgot my camera, but took some pics of our little family on the beach.  We have really grown to love the beaches of America.... after spending a year living on one coast and then the other.

A run down of 2011

2011 in a nutshell month by month:

January-We decided we were moving to Florida.

February- Boston celebrated his 1st Birthday  a couple of times.  The first time was with lots of family around.  I made a cake that looked like dirt with mud and trucks on it.  We celebrated his birthday a couple days early, because this same week we were taking a road trip to Florida to live. We celebrated his actual birthday as a little family in a hotel room with a cake and by swimming at the hotel pool.  Travis got a job as a contract Engineer for Piper, so we loaded an ABF truck, loaded the car and headed to Florida.  The trip took us 4 days to drive.  The turning point for me was when we hit Lousianna.  The scenery changed, the people looked and acted different, and this was when I knew I was a long way from Utah.  We spent the next week looking for a place to live with the help of our good friend and then Realtor Stacy.  We found a place, got the keys and signed the lease, and literally 2 hours later our truck arrived and we began unloading.

March- My Mom came out in March to visit and help us get set up.  We took a trip to the Orlando Temple for the first time.  Our little family when to a spring training baseball game for the Mets.   They were playing the Atlanta Braves.  Adelyn began learning the Articles of Faith that all primary aged children in the ward were encourgaged to memorize. We went the Indian River County fair (carnival).

April- We spent Easter this year with our friends the Rodolicos in Florida.  They have two of the cutest boys whom we adore and Stacie and I became good friends.  We ate Sunday Easter at their house and then the kids had a little Easter egg hunt.  Earlier that week we went with the Rodolicos to our first "night Easter Egg hunt."  It was a blast.  They turned on the football stadium lights and the kids went loose to get their eggs.  All the kids got a little bag of candy when they turned in all their Easter eggs, and there were a few that had "big" prizes in them.  We didnt get any big prizes, but we had tonz of fun. This month we also decided to go to Sea World for the first time.  The kids really loved it.....especially the Whale show. We also attempted to see the last Shuttle launch- the Endeavor.  We drove up to Cocoa Beach (where the view is supposed to be stellar).  Shortly after we got there, we realized they did had to cancel the launch.  We decided to visit Ron Jons Surf Shop and make a day at the beach. Adelyn started her first gymnastics class. Boston started walking.  I had the scare of a lifetime when 2 lizards and a frog were found in my home.

MAY-
Saw our first shuttle launch.... and heard it too! I called in Primary Presidency and Travis got called in Young Mens Presidency.

JUNE-
Adelyn started swim lessons with my good friend Sonya.  Adelyn had her first gymnastics recital mixed with dance recital.  My college friend Brittany came out to Florida and we hung out with her and her cute boys at the splash pad. The splash pad became the funnest place to go after that.

JULY-
We spent the 4th of July with friends.  During the day we had a lunch at our house and then went to our swimming pool with the Hancy Family. We spent the 4th of July evening at our friends the Rodolicos Beauty Shop.  We had the unforgettable experiance of watching the fireworks above the water while we sat on the dock.   It was so beautiful.  My Parents came out to Florida to visit us for a week and a half.  We went to the Orlando Temple, the Marlins game,  Mulligans (a couple of times), Cocoa Beach and Ron Jons Surf Shop, Pompano Beach, drove through Miami.  It was so wonderful and fun to have them visit.  Later in the month, we got to see and hear the last launch finally.  We went to Melbourne and landed on Paradise beach to see it.

AUGUST-
We spent the month in Utah.  Adelyn flew back to Utah with my parents and then Boston and I flew out after Travis' 28th birthday.  He stayed in Florida until September.  It was a long month without him.  While in Utah we went to Tuachn Little Mermaid, High School Musical the play, celebrated Sterling and Susies Birthday,  went to Keisha's first baby shower, Boston went to nursery for the first time, visited with Grandma Orton and met Brennan's girlfriend Lindsey for the first time. Overall it was a fun month, but we missed Travis A LOT!!!  Boston moved from his crib to a toddler bed.

SEPTEMBER-
Travis came out to Utah for the Rowley family Reunion.  The Reunion was full of fireworks.   I was very excited to go back to Florida.  Travis and I celebrated our 6th Wedding Anniversary.  Life with him gets better and better each year.  Went to Trafalga with Mom,  Nick and Bridgette after we went to help them move in their new apartment.  Adelyn started Preschool at Little Rising Stars in Florida.  She loved going to school and was begining to learn quite a bit of spanish from many of her friends there.  Boston turned 18 months.  Adelyn passed off the final of the 13 Articles of Faith and was recognized for it in Primary with a certificate and a huge Hersey bar.

OCTOBER- Travis' parents came out to Florida to visit and to watch the kids while Travis and I went to the Bahamas for our Anniversary.  The water was really rough on our cruise..... so much so in fact we were unable to go to the private island where all the fun water activies were.  It still was awesome to spend time with Travis without kids.  When we got home we went to Disneyworld with Travis' parents.  We made the decision to take a higher paying job in San Diego California where we would be closer to our families.  We celebrated Halloween with a ward trunk or treat and then on Halloween night we went to a few close friends homes and around our Pointe West neighborhood.

NOVEMBER-
We moved to San Diego California.  We bought a new 2011 Chevy Traverse.  Adelyn started PEPP Kindergarten.  Travis started a new job as a contract engineer.  Adelyn celebrated her 5th birthday in Utah with families by eating at Pizza Factory and going bowling.  Celebrated Thanksgiving with Young family and we even got to see Grandpa Sam and Marian.  Went to Las Vegas air show with G&G Rowley.

DECEMBER-
We spent Christmas in Utah and we were able to celebrate it with both families.  Saw San Diego Temple grounds for first time when we walked around it with the kids to see the Christmas lights.

We had a wonderful 2011 and we are very excited to see what 2012 has in store for us.
