Halloween 2010

Man did we celebrate Halloween this year. 4 times over. It was a blast. Our friends had a Halloween party at their house on Friday night. Katie had games for the kids and Adelyn loved it. I didnt take a pic of me and the kids this time because our costumes were the same except I was fairy godmother. Trav put on his full grim reaper costume but couldnt walk out of the driveway. Saturday afternoon we bundled up Adelyn (it was freezing here) and she and I headed out the door with our neighbors Lydia and Kristen. Later Aunt Jenny brought up Rudger to go trick or treating with us also. We hit up most the houses in Sunset and Adelyn ended up with more candy than she could eat (Trav volunteered to help her out) and very tired legs by the time it was over. That night we went up to Parowan for dinner (hots dogs and chili) and hung out there. Aunt Bridget and Uncle Nick came down for the weekend so it was especially fun to get to see them. We then all came back to Lucas and Candaces and the YOUNG adults went to the SUU Haunted House. My first experiance with a haunted house. Trav led the way and I hid my face in his back the whole time. Nick was behind me and was FREAKING out the whole time. My shoulders hurt so bad because we ended up walking in a train. I was not as scared as I thought I would be. That was how we celebrated. Hope you all had a spooky and fun Halloween too!

SUU Trick or Treat!

So my adorable friend Diane and I have made it an annual tradition to go to SUU and trick or treat with the kiddos to the Grandma's and Grandpa's (and hit up a couple of the schools depts. as well). This year was such an adventure as we had 6 kids under the age of 5 with us. But, the kids loved it and we survived!

Stop The Clock

Lately I have been so saddened by how fast my little (actually my chunky) little man is growing up. He weighs 18 pounds 10 oz now and is in the 33 percentile. For this I am grateful because it was quite a shock and scare for me when I saw a 4 for the first number of his birthweight. He is SOOOOO CLOSE to crawling. I give it a week. Trav says 2 weeks. He is teething and the poor little guy didnt sleep for about 3 weeks straight. Once I started getting Tylenol in him he's slept a little better. Poor guy. He rolls and can melt the heart of any girl with is adorable gummy smile. The thing that has me pretty sad is that he is done nursing. He started to prefer bottles about 3 weeks ago and now he wont nurse. Yesterday was the first day I went all day without nursing him, and neither he nor I skipped a beat. Hes growing up! Time for another one?????

Adelyn is my teenage daughter. She loves to show anyone who will watch her "dance moves" she is learning in dance. She absolutely loves school. 5 is the magic number as of late. It seems to her when you turn 5 you can do anything- like go to kindergarten like her friends Owen and Kinlee. She will be sad when she turns five and cant go to kindergarten for another 6 months. She tells us now that we cannot move unless Grandma Marsha can move with us. Grandma Marsha says Trav and I will sure miss Boston and Addy when we have to leave them with us. We will see how it all turns out but I think both of them will be disappointed.

Trav had a interview with Boeing. Now we just wait. I am getting used to the idea of moving.... which means we prob. wont. But I have realized we really do have a wonderful life here. Either way....although money would be a nice thing to have. What would Trav and I do if we had money? No, we have been extremely blessed with nicer things than just the neccessities and we are so grateful.

Happy Halloween planning!!

October 2010

Just a couple of new updates. Boston rolls all over the place now. He will roll from room to room. I guess its replacing his lack of crawling for now. He is showing no interest in crawling. He wont stay on his belly long enough to figure out how to crawl. Hes right on his back. Hes sleeping through the night now.... thank heavens! His tongue is always hanging out of his mouth (like Addys was) and now he will lick his lips when he is hungry. He says "hey" when he first sees you. His first word was Addy. And then Daddy came shortly after. He is such a joy in our lives. I love him to pieces.

Adelyn is still growing and getting smarter and smarter as the days go by. She is outsmarting me. I need to be more cleaver. Shes been playing a lot with her new friend Gabby (which Travis is thrilled she finally has a friend who is girl to spend her days with.) She absolutely loves dance and school and Thursdays are affectionately known as "Addy day." She will be 4 next month. I cant believe it.

Travis is still applying for jobs. He has interview with Boeing next week and I am actually thrilled at the idea of moving.... and actually making money????

Meanwhile I started working about 2 weeks ago. I am working with the school district at a program for middle school and high school aged students who cannot or have chosen not to be in mainstream classrooms. I love it and am finding I actually can do math. It has been so fun to actually use my brain again and get back to work. It has been an adjustment though. It works out perfect because Trav gets off work at 2:30 and I go in at 2:30 so our neighbor watches them for the 10 minute lapse. I also dont work holidays, Fridays or weekends. So it is really ideal for us. Anyway thats my update. Hopefully I will be bloggin our Halloween. Stay tuned!!!

September 2010

Travis and I will celebrate our 5 year anniversary this week. I cannot believe it has been that long. Time has really flown by. I am so grateful I decided to take a leap of faith and marry him. He has blessed my life with love and happiness ever since. It seems the longer we are together, the better our life and marriage get. He is such a wonderful husband. He tells me often he loves me and he makes me laugh so hard. He is such a rock for our family and I absolutely love his perspective of life. He is my best friend who I can talk to about anything and who I can laugh with. We have been so blessed with 2 incredible and amazing spirits. It has been so fun to walk these 5 years next to Travis! Here's to many more years of walking side by side:)

Adelyn started dance this month. She is taking it from Lindsey who is a girl who I did drill team with in High School and who's mom taught me to dance at age 3. It is so fun to see her get so excited about it. We went and bought her her first pink ballet shoes.
She also started her first day of school on the 9th. We are doing joy school this (too expensive and she has 2 years of preschool). She loves that she goes to school but sad it is only one day a week. She has already learned something. She learned how to trace and the lesson was on manners. Sophie, Addison, Jaxson, and Kendi are in her class. Sam, Sophie, Kendi and Addison were there for the first day. They did really well and they all seemed to like it.

Boston is 7 months. Where did the time go?
1. He kisses you by sucking on your cheek. Cutest thing ever. Its because we all kiss him on his cheek.
2. His hair is getting really long and even more curly on top..... can we say hair cut?
3. He's in 12 month clothes now- He caught up pretty darn fast for being so small I must say.

Oh, and Travis got put in the Elders Quorum Presidency as 1st counselor. This is our first experience with a presidency... and yes I said "OUR". I missed the ordination because I didnt know they did it all in Elders Quourum and Travis didnt come get me. I was so upset. He kept saying to me "its just like any other calling, so I dont understand why they have wives go." Anyway.....

August 2010

Crazy school started and we are not going back. It is kinda a weird feeling for us. Travis is not liking just working. He says it is hard to not hear any feedback about how he is doing like he did with school. He is still working at Metalcraft and the job hunt is on. We are applying like crazy, but with the economy the way it is... we will c what happens. Travis had his dare I say it 27th Birthday this month. We were able to open presents with Susie and Darrell while Darrell was down. It was nice to spend some time with them. On Travs birthday we had both families come and celebrate and eat cake and ice cream. Travis such as blessing to me. I am so grateful for the strong, caring person that he is and so grateful to have him in my life forever. Love you honey

Adelyn is still her busy, spunky self. She spends her days in the sun with Owen outside and they are usually riding their bikes. She keeps asking when we are going to move. She really wants to move until we tell her she cant see her Grandma Rowley or her friends like Owen. She is just loving her childhood and she is so sassy. I hope I can survive the teenage years...at least shes giving me lots of practice now!
She adores Boston and my favorite thing is to watch them interact with each other. They will look at each other and Addy will laugh, then Boston will laugh. So adorable. These are the moments that truly make for our wonderful life!

Boston at 6 months

1. He weighs 15 pounds 8 ounces
2. Sits up all by himself now
3. Rolls over both ways now
4. He is such a happy little boy and is usually found smiling
5. He likes to talk
6. He is blonder still and his are bluer than ever
7. He is my chunky hunky baby boy
8. Loves to laugh with his sister
9. Sucks on his upper lip... so funny
10. Had his 6 month shots, and no reaction. They split them up so he had less shots and they will do the rest at 9 months.

WAAAY 2 Long- July

Well I am waay behind because we no longer have our computer or the internet. I finally got to a computer and realized I dont have my adaptor for my pictures but here is the "stuff" I need to blog about.

Last time I blogged was in June it looks like. Since then we had Chase and Keisha wedding. It was so adorable and they seriously looked like models. We are so happy to have Keisha join the family. She just fits right in with the rest of us crazys. Adelyn, Reagan, and Riley were the perfect flower girls in their pink and brown dresses. The day was filled with stress for me, but happiness for my younger bro. to finally have his eternal companion.

We also hosted the Rowley Family Reunion at Grandma Rowleys house. We did it over the 4th of July and it was a blast. We unfortunately couldnt have all the family come due to the many summer events that require us to all be together anyhow. We went to the Parowan swimming pool and Jamie and Monica brought their HUGE waterslide to the house. It was so fun. The little kids decorated their bikes for the parade and they rode them down main street. Addy went about 1/8 of the way because she was on a razor scooter. I was thrilled that I didnt have to walk the whole main street with her. We watched a movie outside on my parents house using a big projector screen. All in all the reunion was a blast and I hope all who went had fun. The best part..... I dont have to host it again for another 8 years!!!!

Adelyn is lovin all the family time cuz she gets to see her cousins (especially Reagan and Riley). She loves being outside and it getting very dark skin. She lives outside on her bike hanging out mostly with Owen. She tells me everyday she is going to marry Owen. Travis keeps telling her to keep her options open. She was at Owens house a couple weeks ago (end of June) and the wind was really blowing. Their door to the house from the garage slammed and heard crying. I went out and Katie was carrying Addy to our house. Her hand got SLAMMMED in the door... and I mean slammed. She was crying and said she wanted a band-aid. I went to the back to get a band-aid... and then I thought what am I doing? I was sure she broke her fingers. THey were so black and blue. I took her to the ER and she was such a big girl. The Dr. came in and they did an x-ray on her hand. Luckily it was not broken, but it was really tender for a couple of weeks. She is such strong girl. I was reminded in this sad incident just how much I love my little girl. She is doing well now and all her fingers are working properly.

Boston at 5 Months
1. He eats fruits and vegtables everyday now.
2. He still hates tummy time
3. Rolled over from belly to back... might have been an accident though
4. Discovered his toes
5. Recognizes faces... like Daddy's. He's still a mommy's boy, but he sure lights up when his daddy comes home from work.
6. getting blonder and blonder
