Trip to SLC

While in Utah, cousin Payton got baptized so we drove up to SLC so we could be there.  While we were there we went to City Creek.  We walked and walked and really did not shop much.  We were able to go to the SLC temple while it was decorated as well.  While we were at the temple we ran into a friend from our college dating days and his new wife.  The kids loved the lights and it was wonderful to be there with so much of our family!

We also went up to Scheels while in SLC and spent a couple of hours in the store.  It was amazing we could be there that long at a store.

After the New Year, it was time to thaw back out in the sun and head home.  We were sad to head home!

Christmas Morning

We spent Christmas Eve with the Young's eating dinner, looking at lights, laughing, and eating snowballs.  We then drove up to the Rowley's, opened Christmas pajama's, got in bed and fell asleep!  It happened that fast.  The kids woke up at 7 am and excited as ever to open their presents.

After waking up Grandma and Grandpa, and the Green Family, we headed downstairs to the living room and boy oh boy!  Santa had spilled his bag in the living room.
Adelyn got a bundle of Princess dolls....

a scooter and helmet, an art set and lots of clothes.
Boston got a new bike (which he rode the whole time we were there)

Adelyn was really still sad and trying to be happy, but I could tell she didn't get what her heart REALLY desired.  We went to the Young's house where Santa spilled his bag again and the first gift she opened....
was her AMERICAN DOLL!!! and all her accessories.

Boston was spoiled as well with tonz of presents from Grandma and Grandpa including a car which he can take apart and put back together (so up his alley).

Hope you had a GREAT, MEMORABLE, CHRISTMAS DAY!

The Real Snow... sledding and snowman

We headed up to Utah for Christmas and Adelyn was SOOO excited for the snow.  The silly girl misses the Snow!  She and Boston spent everyday, all day playing in the snow and doing what they do best.... living outside.  Travis made them this cool slope down the back stairs of the parents carport and the kids thought they were in 7th heaven.  If we move back to Cedar as planned, then I think Adelyn may be taking board lessons next year.

Travis and the kids made this GINORMOUS snowman.  They had so much fun making it and I think my parents were thrilled to have it in front of the their house.  The snowman stood there for about a month and a half because it was so cold in Utah!  Great memories!

School Par..TY

Adelyn classroom had a Christmas party and Boston and I were able to attend.  I only have one picture of her sadly because I was running around either chasing Boston or helping with the party (I'm a room parent). The kids sang a bunch of Christmas songs I have recorded, but this is a blog so the video wont play here.  Adelyn's favorite Christmas song was and still is "Sunny San Diego Land" which is an alternate version of "Walking in a Winter Wonderland".  She has been this song for weeks, and I have to say... I absolutely loves it.  It talks about how we don't have snow here, but we have the beach, sun and other awesome attractions here!  The kids made crafts and ate food as well.  It was a lot of fun.

Ward Christmas Party

Our ward held a Christmas party which was a Breakfast.  Santa Clause showed up and the kids were very excited to tell him the things they forgot to tell him the first time they saw him in Parowan.  Adelyn had now decided she wanted an American Girl doll and accessories so she was thrilled she was going to be able to give him a new list.  Boston decided he wanted a bike by then, so he told Santa that was what he wanted.  I love our ward here!  We have made so many great friends through our ward and it is so well run. We feel blessed to be a part of the Rancho Bernardo ward.

Christmas lights

We went with some friends to look at all the awesome Christmas lights San Diego has to offer.  There is a place called candy card lane where each house (and there is about 50 houses) pick a cartoon (disney or pixar) and decorates with their theme.  The kids loved seeing homes decorated as Nemo, Mickey, Buzz, Ariel, every cartoon I could even think of.  We also went to a block in a different area where every house is completely Clark Griswald decked out.  Everyone (and there are always a TON of people) get out of their cars and walk around the neighborhood and check out all the cool lights.  I have seen blocks where all the house are decorated, but this takes the cake!  It was incredible.  Plus, we got to go with great friends!

Snow Days

We took our last trip of the year to Sea World and went to Snow days!  Adelyn was able to sled (Boston was too young they said... boo) and Boston and Dad had a snowball fight.  It was great to have snow in San Diego (the best of both worlds according to Addy.)  Our season tickets are also expiring, so we spent the rest of the day going on every ride, watching every show (including Polar Express in 4D!  Coolest way ever to watch it!) and seeing every sea creature our hearts desired.  We made some great memories.
