San Diego ZOO!!

After living here 5 months, we FINALLY decided it was time to go to the zoo.  That was the first question everyone asks us as soon as they find out we live here... "Have you been to the zoo?".  Now we can say, YES! Our friends the Jenkins had two free passes and two discount passes to go to the zoo and they offered them to us.  So, we packed our lunches, grabbed the sunscreen, glasses, and hats, and made the 20 minute drive to the San Diego Zoo. Thanks Jenkins!!  We had a blast.

Luau

Adelyn's school had a Luau fundraiser and she had the opportunity to learn a hula dance and perform it on stage for all those in attendance. She had a blast, especially once she saw her friends Mackenzie and Megan who were also doing the hula dance.  Other than the overpriced, adult Hawiian food, we had a blast.  Here are some pics of her doing her dance!!

Diary Farm

Adelyn went on her second field trip to a Dairy Farm.  I was not able to go b/c they were gone until 1:00 pm and I did not want to leave Boston with a babysitter that long.  Plus my good friend Nikki was going and I knew Adelyn was in Nikki's group so she would watch out for her. Adelyn had so much fun and for the next week they made little "farm" things at school to remember and discuss to learn all they saw at the farm.  Here are a couple of pictures Nikki took and sent to me.  Her daughter is the other girl in the photo and is Adelyn's BFF.  They are attached at the hip.

Lets go fly a kite

Adelyn flew her first kite ever!!  We went to the park one beautiful evening and had dinner and took the kites the kids got for Easter.  Adelyn flew her kite all by herself, while Boston did not have the patience to stand and hold a string:(

The Easter bunny came to our house on Saturday so Grandma, Grandpa, Brennan and Lindsey could also celebrate Easter with us.  The easter bunny brought the kids clothes, candy, kites, chalk and beach toys.  The bunny left candy for all the family and made a mess leaving candy all over the floor. Adelyn was so excited about her basket, and Boston just ate all the chocolate on the floor that he could before making it to his basket.  We went to an Easter egg hunt put on by our ward.  The kids had a great time. Adelyn hunted with her friend Kennedy and Boston checked all his easter eggs to make sure they were chocolate before putting them in his basket.  If the eggs were filled with jelly beans or stickers, he threw them back on the ground. Adelyn got to wear her new Easter dress and Boston his new Easter suit on Sunday.  Adelyn also gave the scripture for her primary on Sunday.  We had a great Easter, and hope all you did as well!!

My parents came out to visit for Easter.  It was so great to see them and have them here.  We went to Legoland the first day they came out and had a blast.  Unfortunately Boston was about 1 hair too short to ride the rides, and Grandpa Rowley was absolutely ticked they would not let him ride the rides.  He did get to ride some of the rides still and Adelyn and Grandma Rowley hit up a ton of rides.  They both had a blast and it was great to spend time with my parents.  The next day Brennan and Lindsey flew in and boy was Boston so excited to see Brennan.  It took him a minute to warm up to "Lindy" but he was thrilled when he first saw Brennan.  He has always loved Brennan.....but then again, who doesnt?  We went for a beach ride in Belmont Park and watched the wave tunnel and the wave rider.  We rode our bikes around Mission Bay for the remainder of the day and just had a chill, relaxing day.  The next day we went for Easter egg hunt and then down to Seaport Village.  We walked around and looked at all the boats and museums and went to the shops.  Brennan was even in a magic show!  After that we went to the Padres vs. Dodgers game.  We had a blast and the game was very interesting.  The only runs the Padres scored was when they got walked.... which brought the score to a tie.  Only 5 hits all game and yet they scored 5 points, none of which from a hit, just got walked.  The dodgers ended up winning FINALLY after 12 innings.  My kids had had enough, and Adelyn actually fell asleep at the game.  We had so much fun with all of them, and we were so sad when they left.
