Best Birthday EVER!

I had the best birthday this year that I have ever had.  Truly.  Travis and my Mom were plotting to secretly get her here for my birthday.  I was doing my regular scheduled day plans when I ran home from picking Adelyn up for school to just grab my purse so we could go run some more errands.  When I opened the door, Travis was in my living room decorating it!  I was so thrilled because Travis NEVER gets off work early.  I ran to the car and told the kids I had a surprise for them.  They quickly got out of the car (yes I left them in it while I ran in the house) and we all ran upstairs.  They walked in and said "Daddy".  The next thing I knew, my MOM popped out from behind our bar!  I was so excited I almost cried.  We spent the weekend shopping for clothes, sailing, visiting the beach, and just hanging out.  It was so wonderful to have her here to celebrate my birthday.  Did I mention I have an incredible husband who kept this all a secret from me and helped plot to get her here!  I am one blessed girl.  Also a bunch of my friends here planned a birthday dinner for me at Souplantation.  It was great to get together with friends and just talk and laugh.  I am so blessed to have the friends here in SD that I do.

Boston turns 3

I cannot believe my little man is 3 years old.  I can remember vividly the day he was born and he has been a blessing of love to our family ever since.  We decided this year to have his friends from Joy School and his best bud Seth come to a party to celebrate Boston's birthday.  He had so much with them and in the absence of family, I was so glad we were able to have a party with what has become his family here.  Boston asked for "a soccer ball, a Mater (McQueen) cake and an Ipad or Kindle " for his birthday.  He got the prior two gifts, but as for the Ipad or Kindle... we told him no.  He got super spoiled and tonz of presents, but what he loved most was playing with is buddies and having a cake.  He had a McQueen themed party and he picked out his own cake at Von's.  It was a two tiered cake and I think we will be eating cake for a month.  At his party we played "duck, duck, goose", pin the 95 on McQueen, ate pizza, had cake and ice cream, played with the toys, then walked to the park and played there.  Calvin and Seth decided they needed to go pee, so they just dropped their drawers and peed right there on the grass in plain view.  I yelled from across the park to not go there, but to no avail.  They were done just as quick.  Boston then decided if they could pee there, he should too, but we were able to stop him before he started.  Boys are so funny.  We are so thrilled to have this boy be ours.  He is full of love, laughter, and joy and we love him so much. Happy 3rd Birthday Boston! So grateful you are are ours.

Point Loma

We have church at 1:00 pm and Travis has decided that to sit around all morning, go to church, and then come home and sit around the rest of the night is not a good thing. So Sunday morning we got ready and made a trip to Point Loma Tide Pools since we have not been there yet. The Tide Pools were not much to talk about, but it was gorgeous to walk on the trails next to the ocean.  We took some pictures while we were there to capture the memory.

Harlem Globetrotters

Travis and I thought the kids (especially Boston) would love seeing the Harlem Globetrotters, so we got tickets and went as family.  They did not dissappoint and both the kids had a blast.  Adelyn danced her heart away to the music and laughed at the "The Big G" mascot who fell face first on the floor several times.  They also had a girl globetrotter which Adelyn thought was pretty cool.  The best part was afterward, the main dude, Special K came up to concourse 4 right where we were after the game for autographs and photos.  We were second in line and Boston was thrilled to meet a basketball player.  Great times, good memories!

Valentines Day 2013

We had a fun Valentines Day.  Our kids each found their Valentine's Day by following their own maze of string.  I love this tradition from Trav's family, and the kids really enjoy it.

The kids ate their Valentine's breakfast of waffle hearts, a chocolate dipped strawberry, and syrup.
We then went to Adelyn's school for their Valentine's Day party.  The class decorated sugar cookies, made pencil shavings hearts, and marshmellow on head while walking contest.  Afterwards, we had a small snack time with fruit cut in heart shapes and crackers and cheese.

Boston and I made sugar cookies while we waited for Addy to get home from school. When she got home we made Valentine's Day cards for Grandma's and Grandpa's that we "e" mailed to them.

After Travis got home we ate dinner and then we put the cookies Boston and I made on plates and "kicked" Valentines Parowan style.  The kids had such a blast kicking them, and I was so happy to carry on the tradition.  Just hope my friends don't mind being doorbell ditched!!
