Adelyn Update

Adelyn is now 2 and a half years old! I cannot believe. Yup.... time for another baby... but no announcement. Anyway, I just wanted to write down some milestones and memorable things Adelyn is doing at this fun and wacky age.

1. She is officially POTTY TRAINED! I had started this in the morning a couple of times, but because of work I was not consistant with it. I finished teaching school on Tuesday and we started Wednesday. She had a lot of accidents this day, but I showed how excited I was after each time she successfully went potty. We went to SUU and she went potty there, and yes, walmart, she went potty there. I wanted to show her that she could go potty anywhere. Thursday we just stayed home all day and I took her to the potty about every 1 and a half hours. Friday morning she woke up and first thing said I need to go potty. I took her and sure enough she went. She had no accidents on Friday. She even took a 3 hour nap and no accident. In fact, when she woke up she said potty and she went in the potty. No reward system here for her other than I got way excited when she went potty. I was afraid this was going to take forever (I have heard all the horrid stories) but I was lucky. It could be that she is 2 1/2 also though. Either way.... I am so excited... NO MORE DIAPERS= SAVE $

2. Adelyn had her well check appointment about a week ago. She weighed 27 pounds (30%) and was in the 5% for her height. Her head is in the 25%. The Dr. said in a little childish voice "how are you " and from then on she talked his ear off and told him all about her and her day. He looked at me and said "well she is definately not autistic". I said no. He said he had never heard a child her age talk so plainly and so much. Amen! I absolutely love it though. Bottom line is everything looked good.

3. Adelyns is into dress up more than ever now. At any time of the day you can find her in her play dresses. She gets dressed about 30 times a day. I cant wait til shes a teenager... my laundry will be ridiculus!

4. She had decided she is ready to drive. Yes, a car. She is asking me often if she can drive. No, not till you are older. I am older.... I am a big girl. Yes, but not old enough yet dear!

5. She has an imaginary friend named Andy. I think she either got this name from tweeking my friend Andrea's name (who she has been enthralled with since the wedding) and the kid off of Toy Story named Andy. She will tell me, dont sit there... that is where Andy is sittting. Tell me this is normal somebody, please!!!

6. Adelyn is LOVIN have her daddy home more since school is out. She goes from a daddy's girl, to a mommy's girl and then right back to a daddy's girl in no time flat.

7. Speakin of daddy, she likes to get in his wallet and take out his cards and says Im goin shoppin. Is this too early to know how to spend daddys $?

8. She is going to sleep in her own bed on her own now. She has been doing this for about 6 months now, but it is consistant finally.

9. Addie is getting in her two year old molars. She is slow I know. The girl will teethe FOREVER! She started teething at four months, and her first tooth didnt show up till well after she was a year.

10. She loves books. Her favorite book right now is Dr. Suess book..... I forgot what it is called
( I dont know how, I read it every night).

Congratulations Mr. And Mrs. Roundy!

My best friend ANDREA was sealed to her husband on the 9th of May. I am so very excited for them. We like JEFF and I knew the first time I met him that he was perfect for my friend. She is so happy with him and they fit together so very well. We were able to go to the sealing in Manti and the lunchon in Richfield and I was able to attend the endowment with her. It was such a cool experiance. It is so wonderful to know that my friend will be treated like a queen and taken care of. I cannot imagine what it is like as a parent to know that about your own child. Anyway.... we are so happy for the two of you... and now we have married friends! YEAHHHHH!

Mothers Day!

Better late than never....
Mothers day was such a neat day. Trav and I had the opportunity of speaking in sacrament meeting for church so all week long I was focusing on all the different kinds of mothers and various circumstances of mothers. Both Mom Young and Mom Rowley were able to be there and so we had the special and unique privalage of telling them publicly how much we love them and appreciate all they do for us. I also was able to express my love and the most wonderful blessing it is to be a mother to Adelyn and be mother to my amazing husbands children. We spilt the day and spent the afternoon with Travs family and the evening with my family. We were also able to talk to Uncle Brennan who is in Texas on his mission.

First I am so grateful for the honor and privalage that is mine to be mother to such a choice spirit as Adelyn. She is so much fun to be around and makes me laugh non stop. It is like hangin out with a fun lovin teenager... and then I am reminded that luckily she is only 2. She is our world and I love her dearly. Since I have been home with her a little more this last year, she and I have truly bonded and I love her so much more than I thought was ever possible to love someone!

I am so grateful for my mom! She truly is my best girl-friend. I am so grateful to have her so close to us while I am raising Adelyn and I value and love the advice she gives me as a mother. She is so fun to around.... and we have so much fun together. She buys Trav lunches during the school year, watches Adelyn often, and is always there to help me and listen to me. She makes me laugh. We love you mom!

I am also grateful for Travis' mother. She raised such an amazing son and he is the man he is today because of the things she taught him while he was young. She has always been so very accepting of me and made me feel like one of the children. She watches Adelyn every Friday while I am at work and Addy adores her. She speaks so kindly of all those around and she sees the beauty in life wherever and under whatever circumstances she finds herself. We love you!

A Childs Prayer

There is nothing so sweet and rewarding as to hear your own little child speaking to their Father in Heaven.  Adelyn has been saying prayers by herself now for about 2 months.  It is the same prayer everytime, but it is really sweet.  She says her prayer even when someone else is saying prayer.  This is especially noticable during the sacrament prayers, opening and closing prayers at church.... but it really doesnt matter where we are.... when someone is praying, so is Adelyn.

Here is her prayer verbatim:

Heavenly Fathers, thank you for the food. Bless we sleep well.  In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.  Talk about melt your heart!

Is it normal for 2 year old guuurlllls to talk this much and this well?

I was talking to a good friend of mine and telling her the funny and sweet things Adelyn had said to me lately. She said I should jot them down somewhere... I thought, of course, my blog is the perfect place.   It is really hard for me to remember all she says because the girl really is a hoot and talks a whole heck of a lot.  Here are some that are really special and really stuck in my head.  

Mom, you are my very very very bestest friend!

Heavenly Fathers loves me!  I love him. 

She also knows the alphabet now.  I just realized I hadnt blogged that.  That happened about 3 or 4 months ago... just for my own journaling.
