Our New House!!

We were so excited to come up to spend time in our new house!  It was great to see it all painted, buy new appliances, work on the yard and make the house our home.  The bad news was after less than a week, we flooded our kitchen and our living room.  Travis wanted to buy used washer and dryer and so I searched for some.  We bought them and hooked them up.  Problem was it there was a secret to hook it up which we didn't know and we flooded our house.  So after much money, time, and work our house is barely getting back to normal a month after the flood.  We love having a yard, the kids love riding their bikes down the road, we love having family drop in anytime to see us, we love our neighbors and the kids have already made many friends.  We defnitely knew we were to buy the house and maybe these are some of the reasons why. We are HOMEOWNERS!!

Balloon Fest 2013

It is a tradition that when the balloon fest is in Panguitch, the Rowley clan gets together at Monica's house and goes.  It was really great to be a part of this tradition this year since we have missed the last 3 years.  It is always a fun time for the kids, Trav, and I to go to Monica's house Addy was excited to hang with her girl cousins, and Boston was excited to ride the motorcycles. Enjoy the pics!

Best Friends

We have made our closest friends ever while I have been here in San Diego.  Most of my close friends here will be lifelong friends who we definitely will keep in contact with and will see from time to time in our lives.  We had 4 or 5 families where I was BFF's with the wives, Travis was good friends with the husbands, and all our kids got along fabulously.  It is a rare and precious thing when this happens, and it happened with many friends here in San Diego.  For the first time in my life I felt we as a family had other families who would look out for us and we wanted to look out for them.  They each will hold such a special place in my heart.  The night before we left, after my soccer game, Travis told me he had a surprise for me and that I needed to shower and change.  So I did and then we waited around for about a half hour.  The doorbell rang and the next thing I knew, there were all my friends at my door taking me out to Golden Spoon for ice cream and a last hurrah! I was on the verge of tears.  It was so sweet and kind.  I will never forget that night.  I knew our time in San Diego was special and magical and this just proved that.  I will miss each and everyone of them and am forever grateful for them and our friendship.

DisneyLand

We of course made the hour drive to Disneyland while my parents were here.  The kids were excited to see Ariel's land and Cars land since they had not yet opened last time we went.  The highlight of the trip was when we were standing around trying to figure out how to get to Cars land and all the sudden I didn't see Boston. I looked behind me and he had spotted Mickey Mouse coming our direction and he went running to him..... faster than we had time to think.  He ran up to Mickey and gave him a big hug on his leg.  I think he moved so fast Mickey did not see him, just felt him hug his leg. He grabbed Boston's hand and started walking.  Adelyn ran up to join them.  Then Mickey gave him and Adelyn a big hug and posed for a picture with them.  It was so sweet.  Monsters University was going to be coming out in theaters in the next few weeks, so all of Disneyland was decorated Monsters University.  We got to see cars land and the favorite ride was Maters ride.  We were lucky to see Mater and get our picture taken with him and then we saw McQueen a number of times throughout the day.  The kids were so excited.  I don't know when we will make it down to Disneyland again, so we soaked up every minute of it.  We took tons of pictures.  Enjoy!

My parents came to visit us

So after we celebrated the last day of school for Adelyn, we went to the airport to pick up my parents. We were so excited to have them come.  It dulled the pain of having to leave San Diego a bit. While they were down, we lived it up and did so much.  We went sailboating (this became one of our favorite pastimes), went to Disneyland of course, went to a Padres game, went Coronado, and spent some time at the pool and the beach.  We made some wonderful memories.  I will miss not having my parents come to visit us and for us to be able to take them to do so many fun, new and exciting things.  Good thing we are moving close to them so we can continue to make memories with them.

First and Last of Kindergarten

I want to show the difference in Addy over the past year.  She has grown so much.  She scatters sunshine in everyone's life she meets.  She excels in school and loves it.  I love her so much!

Adelyns last day at Turtleback

We love Adelyn's school.  The secretaries have made us feel so welcome from day one, her teachers have been incredible, it is a nationally ranked school in a nationally ranked school district, and there is such as sense of community that I did not know existed in a city.  Adelyn has made some really great friends at school who we will all miss them and their parents very much.  I feel she has been getting a great education here and is growing so much.  Her teacher this year was Mrs. Traverso.  Adelyn absolutely loved her and has decided she wants to be a school teacher because she loves Mrs. Traverso and Mrs. Reid (her teacher last year) so much.  On her last day of school her grade had games, face painting, and competitions on the playground.  Boston was even able to join in the festivities.  Her friends this year have been Audrie Ross, Andolynn, and Carly O Bee among many others.  I know Adelyn will make instant friends when we move to Utah, because everyone loves her.  As do I!  Cannot believe we will have a first grader.
