Getting this big
Adelyn will complete her first year of school (PEPP Kindergarten) next week.  I cannot believe how much she has learned this year.  She is reading many books by knowing a lot of sight words and sounding out or (stretching) the sounds of the letters.  She is reading!  She has finished gymnastics for this year and the girl is a natural.  She has great balance and really loves her gymnastics.  She continues to draw almost every day and has titled herself an artist.  She is really good at drawing and coloring.  She has learned how to swim with her her noodle all by herself.  She even goes in the big pool with it.  This is a big feat.  We tried and tried last year to get her to do this last year in swim lessons.  She will take swimming lessons again this summer. She loves swimming. She has many friends here and her play group will offically end next week also.  I am sure we will still see many of the girls in her play group through the summer though.  She can still make friends anywhere she goes and is so fun to be around.  She is really tender-hearted and full of energy.  She continues to be our sunshine....

Boston's favorite nursery leader

Camping for the first time.

Getting this big!
Boston is talking.... a lot.  He is getting really good at enunciating his words correctly now.  He loves to sing.  His favorite songs right now are ABC's, Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam, Wheels on The Bus, Take Me Out To Ball Game, and  I Am A Child of God.  It is so fun to see how much he is learning too!  He loves the man in nursery.  Travis and Boston recently went on Boston's first father and sons campout at Point Loma.  He and Travis took the record for sleeping the longest by not waking up till 8:30.  Breakfast was already cleared.  They took the Traverse and put down all the seats and slept in the back since our tent is in Utah. Boston also found the nursey leader there.  To Boston's udder delight, his "friend" had a motorcycle and he let Boston ride it.  His best friend out here ( with the exception of Adelyn) is Seth Sommers and he asks for "Eth" to come play everyday.  I go walking in the mornings with my friend Kirsten so he rides in the stroller... which he fights me on everyday.  He has learned the "stance" of how to hit baseball, and he loves to hit the ball, throw the ball, play tackle football with Dad, and to sit on the ball.  He loves balls and trucks.  His favorite color is green and he says that everything is green (we are working on colors).  He is very active and loves to do anything outside. He really loves "wimmin" and asks to go everyday.  We do spend most of our days at our pool or our park.  We are working on potty training.... which he probably would be potty trained if his mama would stick with it.  He is such a delight to have in our home!

Off to Torrey Pines Beach!  After we got everything set up we went out to the ocean.  Of course Adelyn and Boston loved the water and spent every second possible in the water.  Adelyn was learning how to "surf" on the Boogie Board, and Boston was just splashing in the water anywhere he can... he is fearless.   Travis and I decided we would go Boogie Boarding.  I have never been and was so excited to go.   The Rip Tides were good at this point, so we swam out over many waves to the big waves , and I began Boogie Boarding back.  All of the sudden I see a Lifeguard headed out in the water.  I come up on shore to see a ton of people looking at the Life Guard and seeing where he is going.  I am looking for Travis and cannot find him in the water.  I am looking for our set up site and can't find that either.  I finally find the kids and Darrell and Susie.  I look back at the water to find Travis and see HIM with the lifeguard.  He had gone out to rescue him.  I guess he got stuck in a Rip Tide or was headed into a Rip Tide.  I was nervous after that and did not go back out to Boogie Board.  Travis and Darrell had a lot of fun Boogie Boarding together though.  Sure we will be back to Torrey Pines beach.  I love living close to the beach.

Adelyn rides a 2 wheeler

On Sunday after church and naps, we decided to go to 4S Ranch park and take Adelyn's bike and Boston's quad.  We have been working with Adelyn on riding her bike with no training wheels.  Today she did it!   She was so proud of herself and I am so proud of her.  She is getting so grown up!

Safari Zoo

At Safari Zoo
Susie and Darrell came and spent Memorial Weekend with us.  It was such a blast having them here.   Both of the kids were constantly wanting Grandpa and he was relishing in it.  Adelyn and Susie had fun painting a tea cup set together.  Our friends had discount tickets to the Safari Zoo so we decided to go see it since we have not been.  Safari Zoo is so much better than the San Diego Zoo because you get a more up close view of the animals.  In fact, when we got to Lions, we had such a once in a lifetime encounter with the animal.  To begin we showed up just prior to the Lions mating.  Adelyn asked Grandpa "Why is he on top of her?"  To which Grandpa replied "umm..... ask your Mom."  I was on the other side of the Lion's showcase thank heavens so we can wait a little longer to have that talk.  Then we walked over to the glass where Darrell and Adelyn was and the male Lion started walking straight toward Boston and locked eyes with him.  It was very intimidating, but Boston thought the Lion was so cool.  The Lion then just laid down right in front of us.  It was so neat to see a Lion that close up.
Lion vs. Boston

Boston wins
We then went on the Safari ride and saw Giraffe's, Rhino's, antelope, birds, buffolo, zebras, and other animals up close.  Boston loved the Zebra's.  We were able to see a Cheetah run in an open area (the only zoo in the United States, perhaps World that has this feature).  Adelyn liked the elephants and mostly spending time with Grandma and Grandpa.  I am not much of an animal fan, but this zoo was well worth going to!

Mothers Day 2012

Mothers Day this year was unforgettable.  My family made sure it was such a great day for me and I realized once again just how blessed I am to have these 3 in my life.
On Friday Adelyn's teacher had a Mothers Day/ thanks for volunteering day for all the moms at school.  Adelyn recited a sweet, cute poem to me which I may or may not have gotten teary eyed during.  She then gave me a corsage she had made me and helped me pin it on.  She served me with yummy treats (cookies) and some tea (Crystal light peach tea, yummy).  Mrs. Reid read the Dr Suess story "Are you my mother?" to end the date.  It was so memorable and sweet.

Adelyns Corsage she made me

We all went to Fashion Place mall to get me some Tom Tom shoes I have been craving.  Adelyn picked out a cute dress for me that I could wear her Corsage on for church.  Travis and the kids each got me a card, these beautiful flowers and a CHI.  Travis also made my favorite Sunday meal, Pork chops and Potatoes.  I was spoiled.  I am so grateful to have these 3 in my life.  I feel so overwhemingly blessed to be mother to Adelyn and Boston.  They are the coolest, funnest, happiest, cutest kids ever.... and they are mine.  So blessed!!
