La Jolla Beach

Last Sunday afternoon after the football games, we decided to go look at the seals on La Jolla Beach.  A friend of mine had told me about this area of the beach which was made as a kids place and turned into Seal World.  When we went there were about 30 seals just beached on the sand and many more swimming to the sand and/or leaving the sand.  It was pretty cool and the kids really enjoyed it.  It was perfect weather also.  I could really live here forever I think.....IF we could ever afford a house.  Heres the pics I took

Updates

It has been a long time since I have updated my kids' progress, and recently I have rediscovered how priceless this blog has been while trying to scrapbook and remembering what happened when.  So here goes:

Boston is now 23 months.  Crazy he will be 2 in just a few short weeks.  He is talking a lot more lately (although he is a man of few words but still gets his point across) and his words are more clear and understandable.  He is now saying sentences also.  I have been worried about his language because Addy was so ahead of the game as far as this goes.  He climbs on things on top of things.  Trav's parents said he did the same thing.  My mom said her boys did the same thing.  Guess its in his genes.  He likes to stack trucks on top of a bed, a chair, or whatever he can and then "ride" it.  He LOVES to "ride it" meaning his buzz lightyear quad he got for Christmas.  We go outside to the parking lot and on down to the park in the neighborhood so he gets a good ride in.  He makes car sounds while riding, occasionally he sticks out his tongue (Rowley trait), and tries to go up the big "hills" (any bump he can find).  I have also found him a couple times with a car turned upside down and him trying to figure out how the wheels work just like his Daddy.  I LOVE having a little boy around.  He is so funny.

Adelyn is now 5.  Can you believe it, 5!!!! I can't.  She is loving school and really excelling in her class.  She is learning how to write letters and the sounds they make individually to prep her for reading. She went on her first class field trip to La Jolla Beach to make "sandman".  I was able to go with her thanks to a wonderful friend who was willing to watch Boston for the day.  She and I had so much fun.  She loves books, but the Fancy Nancy collection is her all time favorite.  She really enjoys doing math. She came up with the math all on her own.  She likes to add and subtract.  She is a girly girl through and through.  She spends most days playing with her playgroup friends playing barbies, dress up, and she really enjoys drawing and coloring.  I have no place to put all the pictures she draws us daily.  She really has a talent in art.  She will spend an afternoon just drawing and coloring.  She is so sweet and so fun to around.  She brightens up our day and she brings a smile to face when I think about her because she is just so spunky and fun.
I feel so overwhelmingly blessed to have these 2 in my life.  I am so thankful, although I wont lie it is difficult at times, to be home full time with my kids.  I am so glad I get to be here for the precious, fun, spontanous moments at this time of their lives.

A saturday in California

Addy on beach

Boston and Addy

Me and my kiddos
Our little Family

Trav and Bos
This Saturday was, I swear, the first Saturday we have had to just chill as a family since we moved here to S.D.  We decided we definately needed to the see the beach.   The tides were especially high this weekend and the beach was p.a.c.k.e.d.  We found an area that had a little playground right by the beach so the kids could just hang out.  I forgot my camera, but took some pics of our little family on the beach.  We have really grown to love the beaches of America.... after spending a year living on one coast and then the other.
