A weekend of Firsts

Adelyn had her very first sleep over (other than at Grandma Rowley's). She spent Friday night at her BF Reagans house. The 2 of them get along so well and they already act like teenagers (scccarrrryy). Toni said she went in to tell them to go to sleep and they were "just talking".... this was at 11 pm. They eventually went to sleep. Trav and I were able to actually go on a date to Olive Garden and Boston stayed asleep the whole time. Isnt amazing what an adult conversation can do for your marriage? It was so fun! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, COLBY AND TONI!

The Yankee didn't provide any bites for us, but Adelyn was able to use her Dora pole for the first time this summer and Boston went "fishin" for his fist time ever. Adelyn loved to eat the licorice and cheetos and run up and down the hill with her cousin and BF Reagan. They were throwin rocks in the reservior.... so its no wonder we didnt catch any fish. Boston and Grandma Rowley spent a large majority of the time in the truck tryin to avoid the wind. It was fun though and I got a fishin license so I am sure we will have more fishing adventures this summer!

We then went to SHREK 4 at the movie theater with Luke, Candace, and Ty and Grandma and Grandpa Rowley. Boston experianced his first movie in a theater. He was such a good little boy.... although they play the movies so loud I was worried about his ears the whole time. He and I went out in the hall for about 5 minutes and he went to sleep. He lasted the whole movie though which was very surprising to me. Adelyn said she liked movie.

We also went to the Parowan Cemetary and got to see a lot of flags fly for so many who have died and served in the military. Adelyn got to see her Great Grandpa and Grandma Rowleys grave, as well as Great Grandpa Orton. As we think about moving and jobs in other areas of the country, I realize how grateful I am that we can experiance moments like these with the people we love. I am turning into such a softy huh?

I'm a pee-on

My 3 month old boy PEED ON me today and then he LAUGHED!! I was carrying him to the bath and all the sudden he smiles and I feel wet on my shirt. I look down and this is what I saw. I said "did you seriously just pee all over me Boston" and he started to laugh. After that I did too. Oh Boy!

Boston is 3 months Today!

Crazy isnt it. It seems like he has been a part of our forever. Here are some things he is doing at 3 months

1. He talks A LOT! I thought that only my little would talk a lot, but Boston LOVES to be talked to and he talks back with all his little baby sounds. Perhaps this is a reflection of their mother?

2. He is a happy baby. He is usually smiling if he is awake. I love his smile cuz it is just like Travis'. He smiles with his eyes and he has no upper lip, but man the kid can grin. So cute.

3. He laughs at his sister. She will talk to him and he will laugh and then she will laugh back and he'll return the laugh. There is no greater joy than seeing my children get along and play with each other. It is definately my favorite part of the day.

4. He is sleeping through the night. He will go to sleep about 10 pm and then not wake up to eat again until 4 a.m. I have a feeling just cuz I posted this he will not sleep tonight.

5. He eats about every 2 hours during the day. I think that is why he will sleep through the night.

6. He HATES his belly. He does not like tummy time at all and cries the entire time he is on his belly. Poor kid.

7. I have clipped his nails 3 times already, and that is only after he has woken up the next with claw marks all over his face (bad mom I know). I hate clipping his nails, but they grow so unbelievably fast.

8. He is a good traveler in the car.

9. He hates having a wet diaper. The crying is non-stop hard core if he is wet until I change him. And he absolutely loves his changing table. When he is crying a lot I wll change his diaper and then let him just lay on the table (why i fold laundry in his room of course). I also found if I clip his nails on the changing table, he will not cry during he process. It is like a calming place for him.

10. The swing however is not a calming place for him.

11. He loves to be held. I guess this is my fault cuz I like to sit and hold him. He talks to me while I hold him, what can I say?

12. His eyes are still bright blue!!!

13. I am wondering if he is teething already.

Well thats Boston UTD!

3 and a half year and 2 month update

Adelyn got her new big girl bed this last week and she loves it! She is still spending most of her days playin with her friend Owen and on the off days she is playin with her other friends. She is as fun as ever and I love all the funny things she says. I keep thinking I need to write them down, but she says so many in a day that I cant keep track or I forgot. The latest and greatest thing she said to me was when I was drivin in the car a couple weeks ago and out of the blue she simply said and I quote "mom... I dont trust your driving!" All I could do was laugh. She is very into dress up and then dancing in her dress ups. She usually does this on our bed and it has become a morning ritual. She is my sunshine. I cant believe how grown up she is and she acts. Is there a pause button anywhere?

Boston probably weighs about 11 or 12 pounds now. He had his first haircut by my Aunt Kristen on the 2nd of May. He has so much hair and like Adelyn he didnt lose it. His eyes are still that gorgeous blue. He changes so much each day. He looks just like Adelyn did. He held his first object on about the 6th of May. He loves Adelyn and when she is gone he is constantly looking about trying to find her. Tonight at the dinner table they were actually laughing with each other. She would laugh and then he would laugh at her and she would laugh back... this went on for about 10 minutes and was definately the highlight of my day. He is such a happy kid! Instead of crying for something, he yells at me.... no really. He just makes a loud noise and then if I dont respond after a while he cries. Poor kid got sick for the first time on Mothers Day. He has a runny nose and had a fever. He is getting better now. So thats our up to date!

Travis Graduates!!!

Congratulations Travis!!! Travis graduated today with this bacholors degree in Engineering from Southern Utah University. Some people go to school, others have kids, others have full time jobs..... my husband, he does it all and does it all very well! I am so proud of my hubby and all his accomplishments. With 2 kids, working full time, and still receiving the highest GPA of his group and earning Outstanding Engineering Student of 2010..... wow he is just amazing.  The graduation event consisted of a 2 day fest so I didn't have to take my kiddos to the 2 hours of  Bob Bennet speaking portion. Thanks Monica, Kenzey, Brenley and Riley for watching Adelyn and Boston. Today each college met and received diplomas. We are so proud of Travis. As Travis received his diploma Adelyn yelled out "Good Job Daddy!" The crowd chuckled and ooohhed. It was adorable. Afterwards we went to Pizza Factory and ate with Travis parents and sisters.

My mom also graduated this year which was such an accomplishment for her also. I am amazed at her dedication and all the acheivements she has had throughout her life thus far. All of children were able to watch her graduate high school, and most of her children were there to watch her graduate from college with a bacholors degree. She is inspiring!

Congrats!I love you both!
