WICKED!!!

So Avery and my Mom came down and went to the broadway play WICKED with me.  It was INCREDIBLE!  I can honestly say I have never heard a voice like Enobria's (the wicked witch) in my whole life.  We ended up getting someone else's seats which were way higher in the balcony, but it turned out to be a blessing.  It was amazing to see the scene changes from up high and how smoothly it transitioned.  BEST. PLAY.EVER.  We went to dinner and shopping before the play.  I must say, thanks to my awesome husband who watched the kids and let me spend the mula to go to the play.  We also went to the beach while they were down.  It was so much fun!  Love having people come visit:)

Father's Day 2012

Travis is THE best father any kid could ask for.  He takes the time to play with, talk with, teach correctly, and show genuine interest in my kids and what is going on in their lives.  But most of all, my kids know their father loves them and I more than anything else in this world.  They absolutely adore, as do I.  He is such a good example to me and my kids of what a husband and father should be.   We are so LUCKY to have you as ours!!!  For Father's Day, the kids and I surprised Travis with his gifts on Friday.  He got off work early that day because he has been like crazy and decided he needed a little longer of a weekend.  So we decorated the door and started out making a tie, but it ended up more like a shield or a badge.... opps.  We got crete paper, taped it to the "tie" on the door, and then each of his presents was attached one of the crete papers.  He had to follow the trail of the crete paper to find each present.   The kids really enjoyed setting up and watching this. Travis got P90X, weights, bands, clothes, Hersey kisses, and of course a picture from Adelyn:)  We LOVE you Travis. Happy Father's Day!

San Diego is a very patriotic city naturally with a Navy and Air Force base located here.  The USS Midway is a ship that carried airplanes across the shores of the Pacific during WWII and it has become a museum and city treasure here.  It costs bu-koo bucks to go (18.00/person), but we were lucky enough to go for free on Flag Day for wearing Red, White and Blue.  We were so excited because this has been one experience we have wanted to go on since we have been here.  We were not sure how long the kids would last on a museum tour of an old boat, but we were thrilled when they made the museum such a kids friendly place.  Each person wore headphones and a box which when you entered the code, it would tell you in lay terms what each room we went through was for during its travels. They also had a questionnere for the kids to fill out along the way, and when they returned it filled out, they received their "wings."  Boston and Adelyn mostly loved getting inside of the many cockpits of actual figher planes that were on display.  The boat is huge.  We spent about 5 hours there and still did not see everything.  They had a flag ceremony of a band dressed up like the old time miliatary bands and they played the military songs.  It must be the History geek in me, but I absolutely loved this trip.

Lake Poway

This was after the boat ride at the park
We found this lake in the midst of the beautiful mountains here.  It has become my very favorite place to go here in San Diego.  It is absolutely gorgeous and after being in Florida I gained a new appreciation and love for the mountains.  You can rent motor boats, paddle boats, and pedal boats and go on the Lake.  A lot of people go fishing by boats and off shore for catfish and trout as it is filled 3 times a year and you are bound to catch a fish.  We took the kids and rented a pedal boat and enjoyed being in nature.  It was one of the funnest things we have done here and I am sure we will be going back many more times.  The kids really loved it too.   They too turns steering the pedal boat.  Adelyn loved seeing the "diamonds" on the water created by the reflection of the sun.  I love that Travis and my children have a love for outdoors and nature.
