Thanksgiving

This year we spent Thanksgiving with the Rowley clan, Kelly Orton's family, and Tony Orton's family.  We ate at the 3/4 ward church building in Parowan since there were so many of us.  It was great to get together and most of the Rowley siblings were there.  This year we are especially grateful for the healthy birth of our twins and also that Grandma Rowley is doing so well with her cancer.  It was a different Thanksgiving for me.... knowing things could be much worse and I truly have such a grateful heart for the many blessings I have received this year. I feel incredibly blessed!

Activity Days

Many of Addy's friends are the girls that are a year older than her so she has been anticipating going to activity days with them for quite some time now.  She was so thrilled and excited when that day FINALLY came.   She had a blast and got to tell them all about her.  Her activity days teachers are Kirsten Reber and Sister Silva.  The grin says it all!

6 months old

Emmy and Max are 6 months old!  I cannot believe how fast times flies.  They are each working on sitting up and are close, but not quite there yet.

Here are their stats

EMMY
Weight: 14 lbs 3 oz    12%
Length:  25.25 in        25%
Head:  16 in                 5%

Emmy was able to wear a ponytail for the first time this month! She is such a good, chill baby.  She sleeps consistantly 12 hours at night and takes 2 naps during the day.  She is always smiling and very social. She sat up by herself for the first time this month. She especially has this sweet bond with her sister Adelyn.  They play this game where they "fly" together.  Emmy lays on the floor and Addy stands above her.  Addy starts flapping her arms like shes flying and then Emmy will start flapping her wings like she is flying.  I love the bond these two have and have had since she was born.  We just love having her in our family

MAX
Weight: 13 lbs 11 oz  1%
Length:  24. 75 in      2%
Head: 15.5 in             15.5%

Max has had a lot of exzema lately and is just not a content baby.  Nonetheless, he has been smiling and happy although he whines almost non-stop.  At 4 months he got an allergic reaction to all foods that I fed him.  I knew something was up.  So I took him into a doctor and they drew his blood. We found out he is allergic to cows milk which = hes allergic to his formula and has been for 6 months.  I am so sad and angry that neither I or the doctor figured this out sooner.  He has been so whiney and not been able to sleep because his stomach has been constantly upset. He has been spitting up most of his food also.  I cannot believe we missed all this signs,  So when I introduced new foods it made it worse.  Since he has been allergic to his formula he is also allergic to his poop so he has had horrible bum rashes that never seemed to go away.  The day we changed him over to Nutramigen (milk free formula) he slept for the first time through the night. His skin is clearing up also.  The doctor told me it would take a week to see a difference, but I have noticed a big difference in just 24 hours.  Poor kid! He is spitting up less already too.  We put him on a generic for prevacid also because he has acid reflux from throwing up so much. I kept taking him to the doctor knowing something was wrong,,, but the doctor totally missed it all.  I have now switched to a different doctor and hopefully life will be easier now for this little guy.  He is also sitting up on his own now. Love him to pieces!

Adelyn's 8th birthday

I cannot believe I have an 8 year old daughter.  Adelyn is loved by so many!  Everyday she has at least one friend, sometimes 3 or 4, knock on our door to see if Addy can play.  She is so happy and enjoys life to the fullest.  She fills our home, family and lives with sunshine.  She is full of spunk and yet is the most tender-hearted, sweetest girl I know.  She is always drawing and crafting pictures for the people she loves in her life.  She is a great example to her brothers and sister of being kind, being obeidient, having fun and she reads her scriptures in her bed everynight.  She used to struggle with reading, but recently her school teacher, Mrs. Jensen told me she is the top reader and she is amazed with her comprehension.  She is very studious and loves to learn all she can about everything.

This year she had her friend birthday at Evans Syling College.  She invited a ton of friends and unfortunately Boston, the babies and I all ended up being sick the day of her party.  Luckily she has an amazing father who took the helm and took her and all her girlfriends to Evans and threw her a birthday party there.  She had so much fun and so did the other girls!

We also had a family party with cake and ice cream with the family members that live close by.

We feel so lucky and blessed to have Adelyn a part of our lives and our family!

Adelyns Choir Concert

Adelyn carpools to dance with a friend and her friend was in a choir class right before dance class so Addy ended up joining the choir as well.  She had her first concert for the choir.  She loves singing and has a pretty voice.  They sang "Let There Be Peace on Earth", "Happiness", "Edelweiss", and "America the Beautiful".  She wont be taking choir any more (too much for the Mom who was taking her) but it really impressed the importance of music in a childs life to Travis and I.  Hopefully we can get a Piano and then we can start having Adelyn take lessons,  She really enjoyed the class but said singing so much hurt her throat.  Haha!
