Mormon Battalion Museum

The Ehman family invited us to join them for Family Home Evening at the Mormon Battalion Museum.  We had so much fun (which we always do with the Ehman family).  The museum has a movie of members of the Mormon Battalion and their loved ones.  It starts in the woods in Iowa where the Mormon Battalion is called, moves to a store where food and clothing were purchased from the Mormon Battalion, on the trail where the Battle of the Bulls occurred, and then into San Diego.  I was amazed by the strong influence of many Mormons in settling San Diego.  After the movie we went to an interactive area of the museum where kids pan for gold, wash clothes pioneer style, learn how bricks were made, and draw water from a well with a bucket.  Adelyn asked so many questions about pioneers we realized in all our gospel teaching and Family Home Evenings we have forgotten to teach her about the sacrifices pioneers made to be able to worship as they believed was right.  It was a fun, learning experiance for all of us.  Thanks Ehman's!
