The familia
We headed up north to Sacramento to celebrate Grandma's 85th birthday with her.  It had been 3 years since we had seen her, and her first chance to meet Boston.  This was really special to us for him to meet her because we named Boston after her husband, Grandpa Ed.  We learned so much about his life and saw the volumes of geneology Grandma Janet has done for his family.  It was great to learn about Grandpa Ed's and Grandpa Janet's life and history.  Darrell, Susie, Sterling and Jenny surprised Grandma by flying in as well so we were all able to celebrate her special day with her.  I sewed her a blanket (which was my first picture blanket) and Dee put together a book of letters from all the family members for Grandma.  Aunt Dolly and Addy bonded by reading books together and playing games.  Dee spoiled the kids as well with many gifts.  And I was thrilled my kids were able to make memories with Grandma Janet at her house....namely sitting in the atrium and playing in the backyard. We were also able to celebrate Grandpa Darrell's birthday while we were there also.  It was good to celebrate it with him.  Another memory is when Adelyn and Jenny walked to the duck pond and a goose swooped out of the water and grabbed the back of Adelyns sweater with its beak.  Adelyn took off running, and Jenny went running after her.  Both of them were scared and pretty shaken up by the whole experiance.  I know its scary when Jenny (our family animal lover) was even nervous.  My kids made lots of memories being at grandma's and I am so thankful we were able to spend her birthday with her. My kids LOVED being in her backyard, especially the bridge. They also enjoyed climbing the hill by the pond. We are already looking forward to the next trip to Grandma's.....hopefully it wont take us 3 years again to get there!!!

On our way to the airport we made a special request to go to the cemetary and see Grandpa Ed and Uncle Alan's grave.  I want Boston to know where he got his middle name and it is important to me that Addy and Boston know about their grandparents.  We were able to see Uncle Alan's grave again as well.  I am so gald we took the time to go by.  We cant wait til we can go back to North Calif. and visit again.

One of the best things about having more than one kid is to watch them interact with each other. I wished I had a picture of the first time Adelyn and Boston "played together" since he hasnt been able to actually see her till now. She was moving his hands up and down and he just looked at her, calm and content as ever. Adelyn started to talk him and he kept his focus on her. They did this for about 10 minutes. It was so cute. I love it!

The winner is.....

Addy's school had a jog-a-thon to raise money for the school yesterday.  She ran 7 laps around the track which was the most for any girl in her class.  As a result, she won a blue first place ribbon.  She has been so proud of it and I was so proud of her determination!!!

My 3-0

I turned the big number this year!  I cant believe I can no longer say Im in my 20's.  30 really does make feelsuper old.  I thought by the time was this age I would be married, in a house, with 5 kids.   Instead I am married, renting in S.D. with two beautiful kids and happy as can be.  I figure the house and the additional kids will come in time.... just not yet.  Addy designed my cake.  She told the bakery the color she wanted each thing on my cake, she wanted roses on my cake and told them what to write on my cake.  Travis was super sweet and got me a new CAMERA, and a gift card to get me a new bike.  I got lots of phone calls, cards, and presents from those I love and I felt super special.  Heres the pics!

Boston at age 2

Here is Boston at age two in a nutshell so I dont forget these tiny details that I will look back on and love.

He  had his 2 year old check up with the doctor.  This is what they found.  He is a normal two year old boy:)  and all BOY for sure!!!He is 33 and a half inches tall (27%).  All the rides at Disneyland and Legoland require 34 inches so we will a couple months to tackle those places while we are here. He weighs 28.5 pounds (55%).  He is still in normal BMI range, but short and stalky!  His head is 48.3 inches (40%).

He will anything (or anyone) with anything he can possible use.  He spends a lot of time in time out because his sister is his favorite target :(  She handles it really good and does not hit him back.... but I think one day he will hit her and she will let loose on him.  He is getting a little better since he gets time out every time he does it.   He loves to swing his bat at furniture, the walls, the toys, anything else also.

He loves to play football with Travis.  It is the cutest thing ever.  Trav will say "down, set," and Boston will say "hut" with the ball in his hand and run as fast as he can.  Travis will tackle him and he giggles so loud.  I have the best husband and my kids have the cutest dad ever!  Boston is now into baseball season though. He loves his Boston Red Sox baseball hat and Red Sox Jersey he got from G&G Rowley.  He  loves his mitt and loves to play catch and likes to throw the ball.  He also likes to kick any ball he can find around the house also.  He loves basketball and says "Brennan" when he sees basketball players on the T.V.  He adores his Uncle Brennan who is ALWAYS playing basketball at Grandma's. We need to get Boston's hoop down here and out of storage I think.

He is a heartbreaker..... already.  All the women at church will come find and tell me he is "the cutest boy I have ever seen."  He's got a big crush on Adelyn's best friend Brooklynne though....so I think his heart is taken at this moment by her.  He will ask for her all day, and when he sees her he will grin from ear to ear.  It is the funniest thing.

He loves trucks.  He loves the trucks books Aunt Dee gave him for his birthday. Target has been renovating here and we spent a lot of time in the parking lot staring at the construction men (NOT ME.... HIM come on!)  I always apologize to them because he literally will watch them for 10 minutes.  He cries when we get ready to leave and when I drive away.... but it gets too awkward.

He loves to "ride it" to the mail box down the road.  His buzz lightyear car that is.  He likes to stand on it and drive it at the same time which is scary.  It also goes to slow for him and he gets a little upset, but what do ya do.  Funny boy.

Adelyn is his very best friend.  The two of them can play together for hours each day.  No one makes him laugh as much or as hard as she does.  She is the best big sister ever!  She is just so much fun all the time.  Boston even likes to "dance" with her a little bit.  It is mostly him shaking his hips from side to side.... but I guess that is what dancing is.  He likes the music that G&G Young sent him.

We adore him!  Happy 2nd buddy!

Bostons Cake

I made Boston a Cars cake for the big 2! that is what he wanted he said for his cake. He absolutley loves MATER.   We sang Happy Birthday to him, and then he sang it to himself after:) The cake turned out better than I thought it would (I dont have the best baking skills) and a lot cheaper than I thought it would be too thanks to Vons.
