New Season = Change

This time of year makes me happy and a bit nostalgic.  It is the end of the school year for Travis and thus the 9th year of college for me (I should have a masters or doctorate).  Trav and I are both Very sad to see this semester go. Crazy as it sounds.   This semester has definately been the easiest semester and best semester we have had.  Trav really enjoyed his classes, had much less homework, and took his first U.S. History class (he went to High School in Canada).  He was able to spend much more time with me and Adelyn and do some of things he loves to do, but usually has NO time to do them.  He had a great job working for professor here on Campus in a kind of Engineering different from what he does at his other job.  He got paid more and enjoyed learning the software and gaining the experience.  Plus it will look good on his resume.  The professor he was working for is leaving the campus.  We are truly sad.  He has been so good to Trav.  He has gotten him scholarships, this job as I mentioned, and Trav really enjoyed his teaching.  The school will miss him dearly. In any event, we will financially be ok next year as long as both of us keep our jobs.  I guess I am just realizing how truly blessed we were during this school year and all the fun memories we made as a family.  Make no mistake about it though... I am excited for SUMMER and to able to spend the whole day with my darling girl!

Hay Hay and Chubby

I have had the privilage and opportunity to have my BFF' little stud's come and hang out with us a couple times a week. They are going to be heartbreakers. I have enjoyed getting to know Jills awesome family. Adelyn and the boys play so well together. They can make each other laugh like I have never laughed before. The three of them are REAL protective of each other when other kids are around. I love these boys as if they were my own. Jill and Cody have absolutely spoiled us. I do not think I could watch another persons children because they have been so good to me and my family. It is so awesome to still be friends after such a long time (1st grade). We love you guys and thank you, thank you for being so wonderful to us... you are such a beautiful family.

Easter

Warning--here is a play by play of our Easter advenutres. Feel free to just scroll on through or just view the pictures. Saturday morning Adelyn and I dyed Easter eggs. She was amazed at how the eggs came out different colors. The three of us then drove to P town for the annual Easter egg hunt. We went to the Lions park where they used to do the hunt and as a result missed the hunt which was at the church park by about 2 minutes. Adelyn ended up with one tootsie roll. We decided to go to my parents house and have a hunt there. Adelyn packed up her pink bucket with so not so needed junk. We hopped in the car with my parents and went to St. George to meet up with some of the rest of the family. We went to a park in Bloomington. It was FREEZING-- and I dont just mean cold for St. George. Trav and the big boys warmed up by playing b-ball, while the girls sat and talked. Adelyn loved playin with her cousins. On Sunday we went to church where I bore my testimony and tried to make a joke but it came out as saying across the pulpit that Travis was stupid (i felt horrible and embarrassed and it is a long story) We then went to Panguitch to celebrate Daltyn and Brenleys birthday. We love goin to Panguitch. Adelyn loves her cousins and they just take her and play while Trav and I get to sit and visit. We came home. That was our 2009 Easter Adventures!

Happy Birthday Grandpa Darrell

A big birthday wish for Grandpa. We were lucky to celebrate his birthday with him. We went to the Dino museum in St. George then to dinner at the Lanoue's restaurant, Anasazi. We love you Grandpa....one year older and wiser too, right?

Gerald Lund.... thats my daughter!

I have been reading the series "the work and the glory" (I am addicited to the series) and came upon this description of Savannah a character in the book. It described my little Adelyn perfectly. This is what it says "More social then an East Coast society matron, she was her happiest when she is around people. She was not the least bit intimitated by adults and would come up to perfect strangers, tug on their dresses or coattails, and then with soft flirtatiousness, look up at them and say "hi". It melted the hardest almost instantly. As saucy and impudent as her (curly) hair, she a tiny, totally adorable and completely irresistable little tyrant, bending everyone (especially Grandma) to her will with ridiculous ease. She does not like the thought of being shut up anywhere (including her talking). To hold her in your arms is a major accomplishment. This one was like a colt, too full of life to be fettered by bonds anykind!" Dont you all agree?

Slightly Overwhelmed

I am so happy I have a lot of things of to do cuz I definately dont get bored and I dont mean to whine.  I made our April calendar and it already is so full... this month is an exciting one.  I have testing at work so I will be working WAY more than I want, and it is finals week for Travis. He will be taking his test in Salt Lake..... so we will be traveling.  Not to mention Easter and Conference and birthdays.  All are wonderful and good things.... but they add up to a lot.  My biggest stresses are coming from wanting to help others who are struggling right now and not knowing how to help them, or what to do to help..... or if I even can help!  It seems lately I have learned of so many difficulties others are having... it is overwhelming.  Just wanted to vent.....
